The steward of a shared future.
Our mission
To help humanity build an economic system in which access to life's necessities no longer depends on money, debt or employment.
Humanity has developed extraordinary technological and productive capabilities. Yet billions of people remain trapped in systems that make access to food, shelter, health and dignity depend on money, debt and work. The Foundation exists to change that, carefully and in the open.
A new economic system shouldn't belong to anyone. As a nonprofit, the Foundation holds the mission in trust, so that it can't be bought, sold or captured, and so the work serves people and planet rather than shareholders.
What we do
Four kinds of work, one purpose.

Research
We develop Creditism rigorously and in the open, working with economists, ecologists, technologists and communities to test its assumptions and strengthen its design.
Education
We make economic ideas clear and accessible through explainers, courses and public conversations, so anyone can understand the rules of the game and imagine new ones.
Development
We build the foundations the AYU Network needs: tools for membership, collaboration and trust, designed with members and improved through use.
Stewardship
We hold the mission in trust, protecting its integrity and independence and keeping the work accountable to the people it serves.
Our values
How we work.
A mission this large needs principles that hold steady. These shape every project, partnership and decision.
- 01
Life first
Every decision begins with what sustains people and the living world.
- 02
Open by default
Research, reasoning and results are shared publicly, so anyone can examine and improve them.
- 03
Democratic at heart
Those affected by decisions should have a real voice in making them.
- 04
Planetary in scope
We work across borders, cultures and disciplines, because the challenge is shared.
- 05
Rigorous and humble
We test ideas honestly and change them when the evidence says we should.
